Dr. (Prof.) Rajiv Ranjan Prasad

Dr. (Prof.) Rajiv Ranjan Prasad is a distinguished medical professional, academician, healthcare administrator, and medical educationist with extensive experience in healthcare administration, medical education, institutional governance, and professional organizations. He holds M.B.B.S. (Hons.), M.D. (P.M.C.H.), Ph.D. from Patna University, and M.R.S.H. from London. He has served in several prestigious positions, including Director Superintendent, Patna Medical College Hospital (2017–2020), Principal, Government Medical College, Bettiah (2013–2017), Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna (2020–2023), Principal, Madhubani Medical College Hospital (2020–2023), and Principal, Government Pharmacy Institute, Patna (2004–2014). He has also served as Inspector, Medical Council of India, Member, Pharmacy Council of India, Member, Drug Advisory Committee, Government of India, and O.S.D., Health Minister, Bihar (2004–2008).

In professional organizations, Dr. Prasad has held important leadership positions including National Vice President, Indian Medical Association (2008–2009), State President, Indian Medical Association, Bihar (2013–2014), Vice President, IMA Bihar, General Secretary, Academy of Medical Specialty, and Member, National Committee on Drugs and Medical Equipment, Government of India. His academic contributions include serving as Member of the Syndicate and Senate of Patna University and Member of the Senate of B.N. Mandal University. He has also served as an external and script examiner for MBBS, MD, Ph.D., BDS, and M.Sc. programmes at universities across India. His editorial contributions include serving as Editor, Patna Journal of Medicine, and Chairman of the Editorial Board, Indian Medical Journal, Calcutta. He is currently serving as Director, Mahaveer Vatsalya Hospital, Patna, and General Secretary, Bihar State Medical Teachers Association, continuing his contribution to medical education, healthcare administration, professional development, and the advancement of the medical profession.
